This elegant and refined Merlot is filled with aromas of cassis and coffee which are mirrored in the palate, alongside flavours of ripe cherry, damson plum with hints of dark chocolate. The tannins are soft and silky, fashioning a lingering finish.
The solid warmth of the 2014 summer gave us fruit with bright intense flavours and a full, seamless tannin structure. The primary vineyard for this wine is perched on a bluff above the lake at the southern corner of Naramata Bench. Grapes were de-stemmed and given a 9-day cold soak to lock in bright berry aromas and flavours, followed by a carefully maintained skin fermentation and maceration of 27 days. Partially matured in small oak barrels for 7 months. Final blending with Merlot from 3 other Naramata Bench vineyards resulted in this generous, fruit forward wine.
It is bottled under screw cap to ensure the integrity of freshness and flavour.
