Gjoa's Vineyard is an older vineyard (planted 1989) on Naramata Road "below the road", giving the fruit great complexity due to its interesting lacustrine soils. A moderate summer created fruit with bright flavours and provided the hang-time for nicely ripened tannins. The super-long cold soak - 2 full weeks! - led to mid-palate flavour intensity, and the extended maceration created optimum tannin presence.
