Tasting Notes
Opens with a black raspberry and notes of clove and espresso which interweave with black currant and a touch of cardamom on the palate. Elegant fine-grained tannins lead into a poweful juicy finish.
Winemaker Notes
Planted in 2001 in our own Hidden Valley Vineyard, a bowl-shaped valley behind the winery on Naramata Road, yield was down in this block due to the late, cool spring. The moderate summer followed by warm fall days resulted in beautiful aromatics and afforded the hang-time required for full ripening of elegant tannins.
