A new style of Rosé for Hillside. Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Cabernet Franc grapes were destemmed directly to the press and immediately drained to stainless fermenters and fermented cool. Wine was immediately transferred to barrels and held sur lies for 4 months with frequent stirring. Viognier grown adjacent to the Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon was blended in, enhancing the floral aromas.
The lacustrine soils below Naramata road lend this rosé umami character as a counterpoint to bright fresh berry aromas and flavours.
