About this wine
This Rose is a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Syrah & Cabernet Sauvignon with a small amount of floral whites. Due to crop losses from December winter kill, both of our Hidden Valley Vineyard blocks of Merlot formed the basis of this year’s rosé, going directly to the press along with a block of Cabernet Franc and a tiny bit of Hidden Valley Syrah. After minimal skin contact, juice was drained and blended with small portions of juice drained (saignee – total 35%) during cold soak from blocks of Merlot & Cabernet Sauvignon. After it was fermented cool in stainless steel a bit of floral whites were blended in to enhance the aromas.
