Meet Chef Evan Robertson

With a culinary career spanning over two decades, Chef Evan Robertson has left an indelible mark on the gastronomic landscape, gracing the kitchens of award-winning restaurants across Canada. From the esteemed Hardware Grill in Edmonton to the picturesque Aerie Resort on Vancouver Island, and his transformative tenure at Calgary’s Pig and Duke, Chef Robertson’s culinary journey has been a testament to his enduring commitment to make a positive impact, both in the kitchen and beyond.

Since joining Hillside Winery in 2021, Chef Robertson has revolutionized the winery’s food and beverage program, infusing it with a hyper-focus on locally grown and foraged produce and ingredients. His collaboration with Winemaker, Kathy Malone has resulted in a harmonious fusion of exquisite flavors, perfectly complementing Hillside’s award-winning wines.

In 2023, Chef Evan earned Gold Medal Plates recognition for his sustainably sourced, locally inspired menus at Hillside Winery. He was further spotlighted on Disney’s “Chef vs Wild” reality competition series, where he showcased his passion for foraging food and crafting decadent meals amidst Canada’s remote and breathtaking wilderness.

Beyond his culinary achievements, Chef Evan remains deeply committed to giving back to his community. He continues to volunteer his time at Penticton and Naramata Elementary schools, imparting his culinary wisdom and nurturing the next generation with essential skills for a healthy and sustainable future.
