Off–dry, the wine’s fragrances of honeysuckle and passionfruit lead in to a mouthwatering palate of ruby grapefruit, clementine, kiwi and hints of ginger.
Muscat Ottonel was the first variety planted at the Hillside farm (1984), and has been a favorite here for some 30 years. The Muscat family numbers over 200, and Ottonel is a particularly floral, refreshing member. This wine has lovely floral aromas and hints of spice.
Select vineyard blocks were chosen for fruit producing rich tropical flavours in aroma and midpalate. Careful skin contact brought a touch of colour. 51% was barrel-fermented in Tokaj barrels (1/3 new). The remainder of the juice was cool fermented in small stainless steel vats. Barrels were held sur lies for 6 months with batonnage every fortnight bringing a creamy texture to the palate
Naramata Bench terroir and a long hang-time have created a wine with refined aromatic intensity. Think of this as a “summer chardonnay”. Our Viognier has intriguing fragrances of spring blossoms and honeysuckle, with hints of Chai spice.
We’re so excited to offer Hillside’s first Sauvignon Blanc. The fruit was sourced from a mature vineyard planted just north of Munson Mountain. Classic aromas of fresh grass and golden plum are enhanced by partial fermentation in neutral oak.
This Pinot Gris shines with fresh fruit! Fragrances of white peach, melon and green apple are followed by a bright core of tree-fruit flavours. Fresh, crisp, clean and fun.
Bright aromas of wild flowers and field berries, red cherry and raspberry on the palate and a juicy finish that goes on and on.... this Rosé is a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Syrah, with small amounts of Malbec and Pinot Noir (3% each) as well as Gamay (2%).
